INSTRUCTION:          ANSWER ANY THREE QUESTIONS.  EACH QUESTION CARRIES EQUAL MARKS.

 

1. (a) Define test   (i) validity    (ii)  reliability

Describe FOUR factors that  usually  influence  reliability  of a test.

Compute  the  (i) mean

(ii)   median and

(iii)  standard deviation  of the follow ing set of scores:

45, 56, 25, 72 and  68

(b)       The act of teaching and learning cannot  be completed  w ithout evaluation.

As a classroom teacher, justify  w ith EIGHT reasons the need for evaluation  in

  1. (a)  Nigerian external examinations  are being threatened w ith malpractices  and   leakages.  Discuss FOUR steps to be taken in the administration  to give   credibility  to such examinations.

(b)       Briefly w rite on (i)      Criterion-referenced  test

(ii)  Norm-referenced  grading

(c)       Chinedu scored 74 in mathematics  w ith a mean of 62 and standard deviation  of 8. Calculate        (i) the Z-score           (ii)  the T-score

(iii) Giv e one reason why the scores in (i) and (ii)  are necessary.
