COURSE TITLE: TEACHING READING IN THE PRIMARY SCHOOL (2 CR) TIME ALLOWED: 2 HOURS

1a. Define developmental Reading Experience.
1b. List and discuss with vivid illustrations/examples five (5) reading experiences useful for development and enhancing reading skills.
2a. List eight (8) factors a teacher should be aware of so as to have a successful reading programme.
2b. List seven (7) features that can aid pupils to locate information in a book
highlighting how the blurb, table of content, Index and date of publication can be of use in locating needed information.
- Explain in detail the programme of instruction you would need to teach pupils the use of the dictionary in the primary school.
4a. Draw the map of any town of your choice. Draw the legend/key showing necessary landmarks that can assist a visitor locate easily places , institutions and natural signs, etc.
4b. List four (4) ways to help your pupils develop sight vocabulary.
