How to Achieve a School Goal You Set for Yourself

As students, we sometimes set goals to help us be more academically capable and accomplished. Some of these goals may be to stop going to school late, get better grades/results, improve your skills on a subject/topic, make more friends at school and so on.

Sometimes we want to achieve our goals so badly but we just don’t know how to go about achieving them. Today, we are going to see some strategies we can use to archive almost any kind of goal we set for our self academically.

  1. BE READY TO SUCCEED

Most times we set goals but we do little to accomplish these goals, thereby not seeing any improvement. For example, we might want to stop going to school late but we still watch TV till 11:00PM.

For us to achieve our goals we have to believe within ourselves that we can do it, and then put efforts into actualizing you goals. Remember, faith without works will produce no fruit.

Always identify why the set goal is important to you and the benefit you will derive from achieving the goal.

  1. SET REASONABLE GOALS

Your goals must be reasonable and attainable; you can’t set an impossible goal and expect you will somehow or luckily find a way to archive it. It is not reasonable to set goals base on luck alone, you need to make your goals once that can actually be accomplished within the set period of time.

Always make your goals as specific as possible; it should be clear and attainable. For example, instead of saying you want to be good at sports, you can set a goal to be good at a particular sport, say football.

Always measure your progress, you can get your teacher or parent to help you with these, let them tell you what changes they have noticed and always consider their advice, since they have already accomplished the goal you are trying to accomplish. Make sure the actions you take are once that will produce results. For example you cannot want to lost weight and still eat junk food.

  1. ALWAYS WORK TO ACCOMPLISH YOU GOAL

Never give up, be a goal getter. Even when it seems you will not accomplish the goal, still keep trying. Always take steps towards your goal and never compare yourself with other people, just because it looks like they are doing better than you at the moment, you can ask for their advice and opinion, but never think that you can never be as go as they are.

Know your deadline and work towards it, identify your weakness; things that can prevent you from reaching your goals. Remember; never feel shy or too important to ask for help from others, as the old adage goes “No man is a highland to himself”.
