The National Youth Service Corps, Bayelsa State,  has urged its members to steer clear of social vices that would negatively affect the image of the scheme during their one-year national service in the state.

The state Coordinator, NYSC,  Mrs. Loto Bolade,  gave the advice on Friday at Peace Park,  Yenagoa,  while receiving the corps members of the 2017 Batch B Stream II who completed a three-week orientation  course at the NYSC Rivers State orientation camp, Nonwa Gbam.

She urged them to work closely with their host communities in initiating community development projects and programmes that would  have direct bearing on the lives of the rural populace.

While describing the corps members as agents of development, the state coordinator noted that the orientation course was designed to adequately prepare them for the challenges of the service year.

Loto also urged the corps members to imbibe the lessons of the numerous trainings they had had to ensure a successful service year.
